Mountains Edge Homes & Real Estate

Mountain’s Edge is one of the most beautiful and active neighborhoods in all of Las Vegas! Locate in the Southwest part of the valley the community’s natural setting is an integral part of its design, setting it apart from other master planned communities in Las Vegas. At Mountain’s Edge, 500+ acres of land have been devoted to open space, parks and trail systems. This offers residents endless opportunities for fitness and recreation. Further, community organized events, like 5k runs and festivals, offer residents fun opportunities to gather and socialize in the beautiful natural desert surrounding of their own neighborhood!  Mountains Edge is home to around 15,000 residences with over 50% being family households. With a mix of both townhomes and single family homes valus range from $300 for a small townhouse to $1M for a top end single family home.

Exploration Peak and Exploration Park

The signature recreational venues at Mountain’s Edge are Exploration Peak, a fully restored 2,846-foot-tall natural mountain park at the community’s entrance, and Exploration Park, an 80-acre western-themed park at the mountain’s base.

Bike trails and walking paths lead up to several vantage points atop Exploration Peak. On the journey up, you will find an authentic sundial and historical markers along the trail. And once at the peak, you will be rewarded with incredible panoramic views of the Las Vegas Valley and the Mountain’s Edge community.

The expansive Exploration Park includes picnic areas, playgrounds, water play area, walking trails, replicas of a western town and Indian village, Archaeology dig site, outdoor amphitheater and more. Exploration Park serves as the site of several resident and community-wide events throughout the year. The park also provides residents with a seemingly infinite number of desert-friendly landscaping ideas. In all, it is a recreational, educational and entertainment amenity unmatched in the Las Vegas Valley.

Mountain’s Edge Regional Park was developed by Clark County through various funding sources. The fitness-themed portion of the park features several unique features, including a sports wall for racquet sports, soccer and other games, and a bike town area with miniature stop signs and crosswalks to teach young children how to safely ride bicycles and scooters. A first for the Las Vegas Valley, an interactive series of 15 to 26-foot rings provide the park with both a distinctive entrance and a new outdoor climbing experience. Other amenities include exercise stations, multi-use turf fields, a meditation garden, a 1.5-mile walking trail, restroom and picnic facilities, shade shelters and lighting.

Desert Diamonds Baseball Complex

Desert Diamonds is located in Mountains Edge Regional Park and is run by Clark County Parks and Recreation. The complex consists of four adult grass diamonds with lights, a press box and dugouts. Future plans within the park include hosting large community-wide events and activities, a regional center, a cultural center, a skate park, a performing arts amphitheater, a festival area, multi-use sports fields, practice softball fields, playground and spray feature, and enhanced picnic amenities with additional parking facilities.

Nathaniel Jones Park

Nathaniel Jones Park opened in 2012 and has become a homeowner favorite. Residents stop by to play basketball on the lighted court, stroll or jog on the walking trail, play with their kids in the shaded tot lot and splash pad, enjoy a picnic in the grass, or just appreciate the wonderful outdoor setting. Dog owners and their pets also enjoy the dog park featuring three fenced areas: one for large pets, another for small pets, and an area for all pets at the discretion of owners. This “park within a park” also has benches, trees and personalized bricks from residents. In keeping with the Mountain’s Edge tradition of honoring early Las Vegas Valley pioneers, Nathaniel Jones Park is named for the supervisor of one of the region’s first large-scale projects. When lead and silver reserves were discovered at nearby Potosi Mountain, Nathaniel Jones was sent by Brigham Young to oversee a mining operation in conjunction with the creation of a nearby Mormon outpost and fort in 1855.

Pauite Park

The newest park that enhances the outdoor lifestyle for Mountain’s Edge residents, Paiute Park, features a multi-use field, sand volleyball, tot lot and basketball courts. Since the Paiutes – and before them, the Anasazi – were the original inhabitants of the region, Paiute Park recognizes their involvement and contributions. Ancestors of the Paiutes occupied most of Southern Nevada and parts of the Colorado River, Southern California and Utah. In 1826, trappers and traders began crossing Paiute land, and these crossings became known in 1829 as the Old Spanish Trail. The trade route from New Mexico to California passed by the Mountain’s Edge community. Though these Native Americans lived a nomadic lifestyle rather than establishing permanent settlements, their history still exists in the form of petroglyphs and pictoglyphs in the surrounding canyons, including Red Rock Canyon and Sloan Canyon.
