Lets Explore Boulder City

Established in 1931 to house the builders of Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Nevada now brims with cute shops, killer cafés, and an Art Deco aura. Fewer than 30 miles southeast (but an entire world away) from Las Vegas, this charming southern Nevada burb is a hub for history and adventure at Hoover Dam, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, the Colorado River, and beyond.

Though it’s less than 40 minutes away from Las Vegasthe two cities couldn’t be more different. Boulder City, Nevada is a spot overflowing with history that brings the small-town charm along with a side of eclectic vibes. Just minutes from iconic spots such as Lake Mead National Recreation AreaBlack Canyon, and Hoover DamBoulder City is a can’t-miss jumping-off point for some of southern Nevada’s best natural views. Explore Boulder City’s rich heritage in the Boulder City Historic District and the Boulder City / Hoover Dam Museum, adventure on challenging hiking trails nearby, or explore boutique shops, fresh food, and local favorites in the city. 

Boulder city has a population of only 17,000 residences and the city had very tight growth restrictions in place in an effort to maintain the small town charm she offers. Gambling is also illegal in Boulder City, so you won't find any supermarket slot machines.  Boulder City also supports it's own police department and fire departments making it a very safe city to call home. 

The seven main streets of Boulder City were named for the seven states the Colorado River drains: Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California. Denver Street is named for the City in which the Bureau of Reclamation Headquarters was, and still is, located. Nevada Highway (U.S Highway 93), the original route through the city, has been renamed Nevada Way for the portion between Buchanan Boulevard and the U.S. 93 Truck Route. Boulder City's public schools are also very highly reated and consist of Marth P. King Elementary School, Elton M. Garrett Middle School and Boulder City High School home to the Eagles.
