Las Vegas Set to Complete Over $800M in Construction Projects in 2024

Las Vegas Construction Projects for 2024

A look back at 2023 Las Vegas construction projects.

More than $8 billion in construction projects were completed in 2023 in Southern Nevada, giving the city 4,687 new hotel rooms and 572,100 square feet of new convention space.  While 2024 will see slightly less, there still will be a huge number of projects slated for completion in 2024 according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s Current and Future Projects Construction Bulletin.

Amazingly, 2023 saw nine hotel projects completed during the year, including Fontainebleau and Durango Station in December.  Other completed projects in 2023 included the Nirvana Hotel, a bed and breakfast spot and Aloft Henderson a business hotel, Home2 Suites by Hilton in North Las Vegas and Springhill Suites near The Harry Reid International Airport in July, Home2 Suites by Hilton in Henderson and The Bent Inn, a boutique hotel and pub.

Here's a few to expect for 2024!

Las Vegas Convention Center - Tourism and business leaders joined at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) to kick off a $600 million renovation of the facility’s legacy campus. The renovation will extend the contemporary design, architecture, and customer experience of the 1.4 million square foot West Hall, which debuted in 2021. Work will continue through 2025, with construction designed to accommodate and minimize disruption to scheduled tradeshows.

Ole Red Las Vegas  - Country star Blake Shelton has joined Hyman Hospitality Group and has broken ground in front of Caesars Entertainment’s Horseshoe Las Vegas at the Grand Bazaar Shops, on the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road. This $30 million dollar project will consist of approximately 27,000 square feet with a planned 686 seats.  Ole Red Las Vegas is slated to be the brand’s largest location to date and the first in the western United States. Ole Red is a lifestyle and entertainment brand inspired by Blake Shelton’s clever, irreverent third- chart hit, “Ol’ Red.” Its bar, restaurant and live music venues showcase hand-selected country music talent alongside concert-quality production and a Shelton-inspired menu for a unique experience that is “served all day and night.”

PopStroke's dedication to entertainment for all ages extends beyond the golf courses, as the two-story venue will also feature an outdoor beer garden featuring classic games like foosball and corn-hole, a playground, multiple full-service bars, a dining area, and a space for hosting events including a VIP lounge area.  PopStroke’s customer app also brings guests the ability to order drinks from their mobile device  to be delivered to them on the course.

Swingers Las Vegas - Swingers, a $50 million dollar adults-only mini golf experience, is set to open a location in Mandalay Bay in 2024.  The venue will be 40,000-square feet and be three stories tall. Swingers will have five putt-putt courses, alcoholic beverages (of course) and live music from DJs.  The company started nine years ago in London. There are already venues in New York and Washington, D.C. Swingers expects to have 15 locations by 2026.

“The idea behind Swingers was to create the most ridiculously fun venue possible. That’s why we teamed crazy golf with delicious street food, sensational cocktails and top-notch service in a totally unique, theatrical space,” Matt Grech-Smith, Swingers CEO, said on the company’s website.

Bottled Blond Las Vegas -  Adding to the Las Vegas Strip’s growing number of club-restaurant hybrids, Bottled Blonde is heading west with plans to open at the Grand Bazaar Shops, located next to Horseshoe Las Vegas casino. The Arizona-based pizzeria and nightclub will open late next year in a four-story building with a rooftop lounge, in an increasingly more crowded section of the Las Vegas Strip.

Bottled Blonde currently has locations in Arizona, Texas, and Florida and the new outpost on the Strip is expected to cost nightlife company Evening Entertainment Group $50 million to produce. Its menu has truffle fries and chicken wings, salads and sandwiches, and, most notably, pizza. The forage pizza has fontina, roasted mushrooms, arugula, and truffle oil. The carnivore is made with pepperoni, sausage, and bolognese. And a buffalo chicken pizza is topped with popcorn chicken, cream cheese, scallions, and buffalo sauce.

Bottled Blonde turns into a high-energy nightclub after dark with an “upbeat happy hour,” complete with VIP tables and bottle service. It has cocktails, including one that’s a play on Capri-Sun, frozen margaritas, draft beer, and an $82 Effen Vodka Mega Mule.

Universal Horror Experience - Universal Destinations & Experiences revealed the name of the company’s first-ever permanent horror experience: Universal Horror Unleashed.   The new concept – A 110,000 sq/ft space to be located at Area15 in Las Vegas – pairs the company’s expertise in the horror genre with immersive experiences in an all-new format. The horror-centric experiences will surround eerie eateries and bone-chilling bar areas. It will deliver what Universal promises is “a new level of experiential entertainment.” In addition, guests can expect “a continuously-updated experience with must see seasonal events and one-of-a-kind merchandise.”

The city’s 2024 projects will add more than $807 million in infrastructure with 393 new hotel rooms and an undetermined amount of convention space.
